ARLINGTON, Texas – We begin with Sunday afternoon’s showdown between the Baltimore Ravens (0-2) and the Dallas Cowboys (1-1), a Week 3 clash that will showcase some of the desperation from the start of the season.

Both teams will be looking to rebound from Week 2 embarrassments. The Ravens blew a 23-13 fourth-quarter lead against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2, suffering their 11th loss since the start of the 2020 decade when they led by seven or more points in the fourth quarter. No other team in the league has suffered more than seven such losses in the 2020s, and the Ravens’ 11th such loss is the most by any team in a five-year period in the game data-tracking era since 1991.

The Cowboys were not to be outdone, losing their second straight home game while allowing 44 or more points, in their 2023 NFC Wild Card Round loss to the Green Bay Packers (48-32) and their Week 2 humiliation to the New Orleans Saints (44-19). Those two consecutive home losses give them the honor of being the only team since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger to allow 44 or more points in two consecutive home games.

Dallas is 10-1 in its last 11 games following a loss, and quarterback Dak Prescott’s 116.4 passer rating in games following a loss since 2021 is the NFL’s best in the last three years. Baltimore’s two-time NFL MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson has never lost four straight starts during his college days at Louisville or in the NFL with the Ravens. Given his team’s loss in the AFC Championship game and their 0-2 start in 2024, that streak is in jeopardy.
