London’s dirtiest tube lines revealed, worst cleaned every 43 days | UK news

According to an investigation by the advocacy group, the Picadilly Line is the dirtiest subway line in London.

If you haven’t already washed your hands immediately after exiting the subway, these findings might convince you to start.

According to a Freedom of Information Act request from Showers to You to TfL, Picadilly Line trains are only fully cleaned every 43 days.

The Piccadilly line has a fleet of 86 trains and is the third largest of the underground lines.

The cleanest of all the tube lines is the Jubilee Line. It undergoes a thorough cleaning every 18 days.

And this despite the fact that the Jubilee Line has the second smallest fleet of all subway lines, with 63 trains.

There is a detailed and specific cleaning plan for the underground trains, which is adhered to by TfL.

Trains must be cleaned daily before they are put into service and then subjected to a further cleaning every three to four days, which includes cleaning window sills, windows and interior paneling.

Subsequently, the trains on each subway line undergo a complete interior and exterior cleaning approximately every four weeks.

A TfL spokesperson said: “Our cleaning plan for the Tube trains includes three different cleaning stages: pre-service cleaning (daily), further cleaning every 3-4 days including cleaning of window sills, windows and interior panels, and then a full clean of the interior and exterior of the train approximately every 28 days.”

According to FOI, Central Line trains are cleaned every 27 days, Bakerloo Line and Northern Line trains every 25 days, and Metropolitan, Hammersmith and City, Circle and District lines every 28 days.
