Trump gives reasons for skipping second debate with Harris

Donald Trump has been avoiding a second debate with Kamala Harris since the smoke cleared from the first.

At a campaign rally in North Carolina on Saturday, Trump finally gave a reason why he so often opposes a second direct confrontation.

“The problem with having another debate is it’s just too late,” Trump told the crowd, noting that early voting had already begun in some states. “Voting has already started. She had her chance to do that with Fox. [News]. You know, Fox invited us and I waited and waited. They said no.”

Harris has agreed to a second debate on CNN if Trump would be willing. At the rally, Trump reiterated his position that only a loser asks for revenge.

“She wants a debate with CNN right before the election because she’s suffering a bad defeat,” he said, noting that Harris has never won a primary. “I’ve won all the primaries, you know. She hasn’t won any. She hasn’t gotten any votes.”

Trump then compared Harris’s voting and debate record to his own and made the lame claim that it was unfair to him to now have to face Harris after he had planned a rematch against Biden.

“Biden, I’m not a fan, but to be fair, he got 14 million votes and she got none,” he said. “She had one debate. I had two.”
