Manchester United could be active on the transfer market again in January and sign another player from FC Bayern.

Munich – Leon Goretzka, who has received little attention this season, may now be on the verge of leaving. The 29-year-old could move to the island in winter.

“Great chance” that ManUnited will sign the next Bayern player

Transfer insider Christian Falk revealed CaughtOffside: “I think they know that Bayern Munich’s players have quality and he would fit in well with them, plus they have been interested before. I’m sure if they need someone in midfield in the winter window and knock on Bayern’s door, there would be a great opportunity.”

Goretzka had originally insisted on making it in Munich, but his prospects under coach Vincent Kompany are facing new challenges. Despite his goal in the Champions League, his role at the record champions remains severely limited.

Talks between Goretzka and Bayern sporting director Max Eberl could therefore already point to a separation in January. Falk explained: “I know of talks with Max Eberl where he said he had looked at his situation and he might reconsider in the winter.”

“Manchester United have seen that they can make good deals with Bayern”

According to the report, Manchester United is closely monitoring the situation. The English club had previously shown interest in Goretzka and could strike again. Falk said: “Manchester United have seen that they can do good deals with Bayern after signing Matthijs de Ligt as well as Noussair Mazraoui.”

Goretzka could now be next. Due to his versatility in midfield, the German international would be a sensible reinforcement for the Red Devils, who are urgently looking for new options.

A possible transfer in the winter would be conceivable for both sides. Goretzka’s contract runs until 2026, but Bayern will not put any obstacles in the player’s way. For Manchester United, the deal could be attractive both in sporting and financial terms, as Goretzka no longer plays a central role under Kompany and a transfer would probably be feasible without an excessively high transfer fee.
