Bradley County Fire Department responds to house fire | Local News

UPDATE: According to a press release from Bradley County Fire Rescue (BCFR), three people were killed in a house fire in Cleveland.

Benjamin Lawrence Jr., 75, was found dead at the scene on Sunday.

Benjamin Lawrence Sr., 93, and Adrian Lawrence, 73, were taken to Bradley Medical Center and then to a burn center in Atlanta, where they later died.

The cause is still unclear and investigations are ongoing.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lawrence family and all those affected by this heartbreaking tragedy,” said BCFR spokesman Adam Lewis. “We extend our deepest condolences during this difficult time.”


PREVIOUS STORY: On Sunday, August 25, Bradley County Fire Rescue (BCFR) responded to a residential building fire off Live Oak Trail.

A BCFR press release said that when emergency services arrived, heavy smoke and intense flames were coming from the house.

When the fire department entered the building, they found three victims. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bradley County EMS transported two men in critical condition to Bradley Medical Center.

The two were treated for their injuries and taken to a burn center in Atlanta for further care.

BCFR investigators, the Traumatic brain injuryand the 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office are still working to determine the cause of the fire.

“We are grateful for the support of TriState Mutual Aid about reporting for the district and supporting the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office” said BCFR spokesman Adam Lewis.
