Adorable moment: Trump’s young granddaughter repeats his famous catchphrase to the crowd in Virginia behind a bulletproof partition – while a scandal-hit ally leaves the rally

While North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson is reeling from explosive allegations surrounding his posts on the Nude Africa website, Donald Trump has brought a sweet surrogate with him on stage for his rally in the state: his granddaughter Carolina.

Trump introduced his granddaughter, whose parents are Eric and Lara, at an outdoor rally on the key battlefield that gives her her name.

“Her name is Carolina and she’s beautiful and she’s sweet and she doesn’t know how evil life is – she hasn’t experienced it yet,” Trump said at her introduction.

Then he led his grandson Luke, after two assassination attempts, to the podium surrounded by bulletproof glass. “Vote for Grandpa,” he said.

But Robinson, who has defended himself against allegations related to his posts on issues such as race, sex and even slavery, was not among the dignitaries Trump mentioned by name.

The family moment came after Trump said he rejected Kamala Harris’ proposal for another presidential debate just weeks before Election Day.

“It’s too late. I’d love to try one more time in many ways, but it’s too late,” Trump told the crowd at the rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, as “Trump Force One” played in the background.

He said Harris wanted to participate in the debate “because she is losing,” just hours after her campaign adviser told her she had accepted an invitation from CNN to a debate on October 23.

With no debate in sight other than a possible duel for the vice presidency, the candidates will face off in an ongoing TV war that has seen Harris raise far more money than Trump in August, but Trump’s big donors cash huge checks to outside groups.

They will also hold competing press conferences and interviews. Trump mocked Harris for her recent town hall-style event with Oprah Winfrey, playing a video of him mocking some of her verbal crutches.

But Trump could not resist taking aim at President Biden, who is no longer running for office. On Friday, he held his first cabinet meeting in almost a year.

“Is he the president? Because yesterday his wife took over the cabinet meeting, right?” Trump said.

North Carolina is emerging as a must-win state for Trump, even as Harris continues to pay attention to the state as polls predict a neck-and-neck race in Pennsylvania.

“If we win this state, I think it will be over quickly,” Trump predicted.

Trump held a large outdoor rally in battleground North Carolina, just hours after a sensational report emerged claiming that the state’s Republican governor, Mark Robinson, had made inflammatory posts on the Nude Africa message board.

Robinson was not present, although Trump greeted several lawmakers from the stage, including Senator Ted Budd and Representative Dan Bishop, as well as various public officials.

He even introduced “Front Row Joes” and other regular attendees at Trump rallies, as well as a county commissioner, but made no mention of the lieutenant governor in his introductory remarks.

Since Robinson was not present, Trump brought two grandchildren, the children of Eric and Lara Trump, to the stage.

“Her name is Carolina and she’s beautiful and she’s sweet and she doesn’t know how evil life is – she hasn’t experienced it yet,” Trump said as he introduced his granddaughter.

Grandson Luke gave a short speech for his grandfather. “Vote for Grandpa,” he said.

Some of Trump’s supporters are ready to part ways with Robinson. One Trump supporter predicted the two men’s fates are now closely linked. “If Robinson goes downhill, Trump goes downhill,” Trump supporter Patty O’Neil told DailyMail.com.

In the hours before the report was released on CNN on Thursday, Robinson even faced pressure from his Republican colleagues to drop out of the race.

Among his alleged “inflammatory” comments, Robinson called himself a “pervert,” that he had “spied” women when he was 14, and that he enjoyed watching “tranny and girl porn.”

Other inflammatory or racist comments included, “I’m a black Nazi!” and “Slavery isn’t bad. Some people have to be slaves. I wish they would bring it back. I would definitely buy a few.”

MAGA fans who lined up for an outdoor rally on Saturday were alerted to the offensive allegations, with some saying they would not support the Republican official and one warning it could hurt Trump and other Republicans in the election.

“I’ve been following politics for some time. I think Mark Robinson is the October surprise,” said Patty O’Neil, who runs a pet-sitting business in Wilmington.

“Mark Robinson is a very conservative, independent-minded black man, and there are a lot of people who want to take him down. Think of Herschel Walker,” she said, referring to the Georgia Republican football star whose Trump-backed campaign imploded.

“My concern, which probably shouldn’t be voiced out loud, is that the Republican Party has to support these black conservatives, period. If it goes wrong for Robinson, it goes wrong for Trump,” she said.

Kevin Ibanez, a Long Island native and retired Suffolk County police officer, says he is willing to give up the controversial figure in light of recent reports.

“I don’t think I’m going to vote for him. He’s a grown man going on a porn website. I might skip him,” he said. “You shouldn’t be on that porn website. Come on! You’re a grown man,” he said on his way to a Trump rally.

But Ibanez is more lenient towards Donald Trump, who compared Robinson to Martin Luther King Jr.

“He’s a crazy man sometimes. But he’s the best thing for our country. I wish he could tone down his rhetoric a little bit. Just keep calm,” he said. “He is what he is.”

Raymond Bebb and Lisa Perdue, originally from Pittsburgh and wearing the Steelers outfit, were up to date on the latest allegations.

“I’m not happy about what I heard, but we’ll see if he resigns.”

We tend to cut ourselves off from our own flesh,” he said.

“When you see crowds like this and the crowds he draws wherever he visits North Carolina, I think we’re ready for a new era.”

The man was elected lieutenant governor, so why didn’t all this come to light then? Did his political opponents not dig deep enough? I don’t know. But it wouldn’t bother me. I’d vote for the man.

Robinson denied the report, calling it offensive “tabloid garbage.”

In a video denying his statement, Robinson said: “I can assure you that the things you’re about to see in this story are not the words of Mark Robinson,” he said. “You know my words, you know my character, and you know I’ve been completely transparent in this race and before.”

He also skipped Trump’s running mate JD Vance’s event in the state on Wednesday.
