Will Ospreay is excited to see Ricochet at AEW and explains why there won’t be a Dream Match yet

Will Ospreay has spoken about the recent arrival of Ricochet and why he is in no hurry to face his former rival again.

As many had suspected, Ricochet made his debut for AEW at All In after opting not to sign a new contract with WWE. He has impressed many with his athletic prowess and fans are excited to see what the high-flyer will do in All Elite Wrestling. Although Ricochet may have many of his first matches in the promotion, many are eagerly awaiting the rematch between Ricochet and Ospreay after their encounter at Best Of The Super Juniors XXIII generated one of the most controversial reactions in wrestling history.

At the press conference following All In, Ospreay stated that while he was excited to see Ricochet in AEW, he would not rush into it:

“I mean, the man has to work for it. There’s a long list of people he has to beat before he can proclaim the international champion. But honestly, buddy, I think it’s been eight years since that Best of the Super Juniors match and we’ve both gone our separate ways.

We both did good work, but now he’s under this microscope. And maybe, just maybe, I just challenged him all those times just to see if he was up to some bullshit. And he showed up, right? He showed up. So I’m excited to see what he’s going to do here in AEW. I’m excited and really, really happy for him.”

Will Ospreay wins big at AEW All In

The British wrestler continued his winning streak at Wembley Stadium, becoming International Champion for the second time with a victory over MJF in front of his home crowd. The win follows Ospreay’s previous victory over Chris Jericho at the inaugural Wembley show in 2023.
