Police and JTF find three explosive devices and abandoned vehicles in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command in collaboration with the Joint Security Task Force (JTF) has seized three unexploded devices, two abandoned vehicles and other dangerous materials during a raid on a camp in Ihiala.

The state police spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement in Onitsha on Saturday.

He said that the joint security forces had dismantled a criminal den as part of a planned and coordinated operation based on the security intelligence collected over time.

Three unexploded devices were found in camps in Lilu, Mbosi and Isseke areas of Ihiala Local Government Area of ​​the state.

Ikenga pointed out that the state police commissioner, Nnaghe Itam, had instructed officers to maintain the tempo of operations.

He stressed that the Commissioner also assured the good citizens of the state of the determination of the police and other security agencies to continue to control and suppress the criminal elements wreaking havoc in the state.

“Two abandoned vehicles, some explosive materials such as copper wires, fuel and other dangerous materials were seized,” he said.
