Rio Ferdinand criticises Chelsea for ‘wild’ treatment of Raheem Sterling

The transfer window has entered its final week as Premier League clubs rush to complete the final deals before Friday’s deadline.

The market closes on Friday night and many big stars are facing an uncertain future with just days to go before the end of their careers, including Raheem Sterling, Ivan Toney, Kieran Trippier and Ben Chilwell. Sterling, who was released by Chelsea, is said to be linked with Manchester United in a swap deal for winger Jadon Sancho, according to the newspaper. telegraph.

England striker Toney was left out of Brentford’s squad for the second week in a row at the weekend, but interest from the Premier League appears to have dried up as Trippier has been linked with a move to Everton. Meanwhile, United have accepted an offer from Napoli for midfielder Scott McTominay, which could allow Erik ten Hag’s side to complete a move for PSG’s Manuel Ugarte.

Transfer news: Chelsea interested in Sancho-Sterling swap

Raheem Sterling looks set to leave Chelsea. Jadon Sancho apparently doesn’t fit into Erik ten Hag’s plans at Manchester United. So could a swap deal between the clubs just days before the transfer deadline be beneficial for both?

According to the Telegraph’s Jason Burt, Chelsea are keen to explore this option Sancho has been linked with Juventus after being left out of United’s squad for Saturday’s match against Brighton for the second weekend in a row, despite the 24-year-old travelling with the club.

Sancho would fit Chelsea’s profile but his wages could be a problem. However, Sterling is one of the top earners at Stamford Bridge and Enzo Maresca has made it clear that the winger does not fit into his plans. Could Sterling find a home at Old Trafford?

Chelsea interested in a Sancho-Sterling swap deal

This would be one of the stories of the window if it came true.

The Daily Telegraph Reports that Chelsea are interested in a swap deal with Manchester United for Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling.

Several media outlets have reported that Chelsea are considering a transfer of the disgraced United winger and are also reportedly hoping that United could be interested in their own disgraced winger Raheem Sterling.

The Telegraph adds that Juventus are the other club interested in Sancho and “at the moment, the Serie A club seems a more likely destination.”

United reportedly want around £40 million for the England international, “but a loan with an obligation to buy seems the most likely offer at this stage.”

His salary demands further complicate any deal because “it is unlikely that any club would be willing to pay Sancho’s salary in full, which is something United will insist on.”

Kylian Mbappe keeps a clean sheet, Real Madrid beats Real Valladolid

The French superstar, who failed to score on his league debut in the 1-1 draw at Real Mallorca last weekend, once again failed to get on the scoresheet and it was Carlo Ancelotti’s substitutes who ended Valladolid’s hopes of a draw.

Federico Valverde brought the game to a halt at the Bernabeu five minutes into the second half, but it was late goals from Brahim Diaz and Endrick, who came on for Mbappe in the 86th minute – his first goal for the club – that gave Madrid the win.

Bournemouth denied dramatic win by Newcastle as VAR disallows injury-time goal

Bournemouth were denied a dramatic victory over Newcastle by a controversial VAR decision that denied Dango Ouattara a late winner.

Cherries head coach Andoni Iraola was furious after the goal was disallowed for handball in injury time and was shown a yellow card for his protest at the end of the 1-1 draw.

It was frustrating for both managers that Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe was still unable to win at his old stomping ground.

The Magpies fell behind to Marcus Tavernier’s goal in the first half, but were able to equalise through Anthony Gordon and pushed hard for the late winner.

But Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto made some brilliant saves before the game exploded at the other end.

And yet, having survived a massive Villainous storm, goals from Leandro Trossard and Thomas Partey left the away section at Villa Park limb-twitching on Saturday, signalling an ultimate statement of intent and ending a recent, damaging run of bad luck.
