Eight destinations for autumn Saturdays in Chemnitz and the surrounding area

From manga to clothing swaps to the children’s party in Sonnenlandpark, there is a lot to experience in Chemnitz and the surrounding area this Saturday.

Chemnitz- This Saturday marks the beginning of autumn according to the calendar! Of course, there is still a lot to experience in the colorful season. We have eight excursion ideas for you in Chemnitz and surroundings.

Manga Day

Chemnitz – This year, Manga Day in Chemnitz is already in its third round and will take place in the city library. Incidentally, this day is celebrated in over 1200 comic and book stores as well as libraries across Europe.

Workshops, cooperative gaming, 3D printing, the opportunity to have your own manga created and much more await you.

Manga Day starts at 10am.

Blitz Chess

Augustusburg – How about a game of chess at a speed of 10.8 km/h? This is possible this Saturday in the cable car in Augustusburg.

You have eight minutes to rack your brains at blitz chess. The tournaments take place between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Guests can join in at both stations without registering in advance.

The spectacle is included in the normal ticket (one way: 3 to 4 euros, round trip: 4 to 5 euros). Each participant receives a certificate.

Pack your things

Chemnitz – The clothing swap party “Pack your seven things” will take place again in the central library in TIETZ (Moritzstraße 20) from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For every item of clothing you bring with you, you can take a new one.

You may bring a maximum of seven items in good and washed condition, underwear is excluded.

Admission is free.

Rock in the Club

Chemnitz – From 8 p.m., the Brauclub will be the stage for an electrifying rock night! The AC/DC tribute band “AC/CZ” will bring the immortal anthems of the Australian rock legends directly to the city of Chemnitz.

The regional band “Sapid Steel” opens the evening with powerful heavy metal sounds and provides the perfect atmosphere.

Tickets are available for 22.50 euros online or at the box office. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Children’s party in the castle

Zschopau – Wildeck Castle in Zschopau (Wildeck Castle 1) will be a magical children’s paradise from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The juggler “Narrateau” will be coming to the colorful children’s festival, there will be autumnal handicrafts, an exciting puppet theater and pony rides.

Admission to the museum costs 8 euros, reduced rate 4 euros. Admission to the festival is free.

Erzgebirge originals

Floodplain – The Erzgebirge Ensemble Aue was on a musical search for traces in the field of material folk art and culture in the Erzgebirge. They found, among other things, miners and angels, smokers, nutcrackers, carving, wood turning and bobbin lace making.

The musicians will perform the appropriate songs at 2.30 p.m. in the Kulturhaus Aue (Goethestraße 2).

Admission costs from 20 euros, reduced from 18 euros.

World Children’s Day Party

Lichtenau – A big World Children’s Day party awaits you in the Sonnenlandpark Lichtenau (Zum Sonnenlandpark) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The children’s project circus “Tomello” will also be there with its new show “Magic of the Elements” (performance times: 12.30 p.m., 1.30 p.m., 3.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m.).

But attractions such as the Ferris wheel, bouncy cushions, children’s quads, go-karts, Germany’s highest slide tower and much more are also open for you.

Admission costs 18 euros per person. Children under 4 years of age are admitted free.

Autumn market

Zwickau – This weekend, the Zwickau Kornmarkt is hosting its first autumn market, where you can stroll past various traders and food stalls and discover beautiful and tasty things. There is also something for children, including stick bread grilling and small games.

The market is open today, Saturday, and tomorrow, Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
