Tennis: Kerber’s future plans: Maybe a new language or piano

Angelique Kerber has not yet really got used to her new everyday life after her successful tennis career. “It doesn’t feel 100 percent yet because I still have so many appointments that I have to attend. “I try to perceive every moment a little differently than when I was so stressed on my tour,” said the three-time Grand Slam tournament winner at the Laver Cup in Berlin.

After her quarter-final defeat at the Olympic Games in Paris, the 36-year-old ended her career at the end of July. “I’m fine. At the moment I’m spending so much time with my little ones, which I enjoy. But at the end of the day I don’t have that much free time,” said the Bremen native, who has been a mother to daughter Liana since February 2023.

In the first few days after her last match in France, Kerber reported, her emotions were going crazy. “Definitely emotional, but somehow also nice.” “I’ve been thinking about a lot of things,” said the 2018 Wimbledon winner. Once she’s got used to her new life, she wants to tackle new projects. “Something will definitely come up. Be it learning a language or maybe playing the piano,” revealed the former world number one.
