Ed Sheeran surprises Romanian fans with surprise appearance as Hollywood actor

Ed Sheeran had a surprise in store for his fans at his concert in Romania on Saturday (August 24): He invited a Hollywood star to accompany him on stage.

The British singer-songwriter was accompanied by Thor Actor Chris Hemsworth, who played drums while Sheeran sang his hit single “Thinking Out Loud” at the National Arena in Bucharest.

The stunt was performed in front of nearly 70,000 fans as part of the Australian actor’s documentary series. Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, In it, he takes on various challenges to examine human problems, such as pain, fear and social bonds.

His performance with Sheeran was filmed for an episode that looked at the cognitive health benefits of learning an instrument and the broader theme of the limitations of the human body.

“I got @ChrisHemsworth to learn drums for my stadium show. Find out why on his show Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, “Season two will be released on Disney Plus in 2025,” Sheeran wrote in an Instagram post, alongside a photo of himself on stage with the actor.

He also complimented the Avengers star on his drumming skills: “He was wonderful!! I think he deserves a permanent place in the band.”

In the first season of Limitless,Hemsworth revealed he received a “shocking” health warning following a DNA test.

In conversation with Vanity FairHemsworth recalled the moment he received the news that doctors had found two copies of the APOE4 gene, which is associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

“They did all my blood work and a bunch of tests and the plan was to tell me all the results on camera and then talk about how I can improve this and that,” he said.

“And Peter Attia, who is the longevity doctor in this episode and oversees much of the show, called [show creator] Darren [Aronofsky] and said, “I don’t want to tell him this on camera. We need to have a private conversation and find out if he even wants this on the show.”

“It was pretty shocking because he called me and told me.”

Hemsworth said he certainly wasn’t expecting such “intense” news, as the show was originally intended as a “fun” way to explore the topic of longevity.

However, he said, “It was a really good catalyst to dive into whatever I needed to do, be it in prevention or management.

“It was very stressful to deal with. Most of us avoid talking about death in the hope of somehow avoiding it.”

Sheeran’s Mathematics tour continues with shows in Bulgaria, Cyprus and Brazil until September 7. After that, he will take a break until 2025, when he will return to touring between May and September, performing in stadiums and arenas across Europe.

Last week, Sheeran joined friend and fellow pop star Taylor Swift on stage at Wembley Stadium for one of the final UK shows of her record-breaking Eras Tour.
