Galaxy S23 Ultra One UI 6.1.1 update rolled out

Galaxy S23 Ultra One UI 6.1.1 update rolled out

Samsung has stopped the rollout of the One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S23 Ultra due to a camera issue that causes ghosting in images with zoom levels between 16x and 19.9x.

Samsung is working to fix the issue and will release a new update soon. The issue does not affect the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+, so the update is still available over the air for these models and you can download it from your phone. Settings » Software update Menu if you haven’t updated yet.

Fortunately, the zoom range affected by the issue is one that most users probably don’t use often. But for those who do, there is a temporary workaround if they’ve updated to One UI 6.1.1: You can open the Settings in the Camera app, click Intelligent optimizationand switch to the medium quality optimization setting as shown in the screenshots below.

The medium optimization quality can reduce image quality slightly, so you should stick with the maximum setting unless you’re taking photos at 16x to 19.9x magnification. Another alternative is to use Samsung’s Expert RAW camera app, which is not affected by the ghosting issue. You can access Expert RAW from the Modes section of the stock Camera app.
