enterJS React 19 Day: Use the new React features in a targeted manner

React 19 will bring some innovations. Experts will show what has happened with the popular JavaScript library for web applications at the online conference React 19 Day on October 17, 2024. The theme day is an offshoot of the Enterprise JavaScript conference enterJS and offers a program of six lectures that the organizers iX and dpunkt.verlag have put together together with the React experts Nils Hartmann and Sebastian Springer. If you act quickly, you can still save: the early bird discount runs until Wednesday, September 25th.

The React 19 Day program offers six 45-minute talks followed by interactive discussions, which will focus on the still experimental React Compiler and two interesting libraries in the React ecosystem: TanStack Query and TanStack Router.

The opening lecture will be given by Stefan Spittank and Holger Grosse-Plankermann: “React 19 shines! So beautifully new! Really everything?” The two speakers will discuss which features are already brilliant and which could still use a little polish. Aygul Okdirova will address the specifics of the new React compiler, which is currently still experimental. Experienced conference participants from Sebastian Springer will talk about how full-stack React is changing the lives of developers – including a short excursion to alternatives to the React framework Next.js.

Excerpt from the rest of the program:

Nils Hartmann (freelance software developer and architect) and Sebastian Springer (MaibornWolff) are also offering a workshop on November 20th: “Short and sweet – your update to React 19”. This will cover, among other things, the full-stack development of React applications, the use of client and server components (using Next.js as an example), the new interfaces for efficient form handling, and actions and transitions. Anyone who would like to take part in the workshop should already have experience with React and be familiar with the basic concepts such as components, state and lifecycle. Knowledge of Next.js is not required.

A ticket for React 19 Day costs 229 euros until September 25th, and 279 euros after the early bird discount has expired (all prices plus 19% VAT). Teams also benefit from group discounts: three or more people automatically receive a 10 percent discount in the online ticket shop, and four or more people receive a 15 percent discount. The workshop “Short and sweet – your update to React 19” can be booked for 549 euros. Participants can join the event on LinkedIn; the hashtag is #ejs24.

There is currently a lot going on in the area of enterJS: On November 7th, Accessibility Day will take place as another online conference; tickets are also available in the online ticket shop. The call for proposals for enterJS 2025 was also recently opened on May 7th and 8th in Mannheim. If you have exciting ideas for lectures and workshops, you can submit them by November 8th, 2024.
