GTA 6: What about the release? This is what Take-Two says in its latest annual report

Despite recent rumors of a delay, Take-Two Interactive officially remains committed to releasing Grand Theft Auto 6 in fall 2025.

In the current annual report, the publisher confirmed this time frame, which means that GTA 6 could be released in about a year according to current plans.

“Rockstar Games continues to invest in the franchise and plans to release Grand Theft Auto 6 in the fall of calendar year 2025,” it says.

“The label released the first trailer for the game in December 2023, with further details to be announced over time.”

This month, rumors emerged that Grand Theft Auto 6 might not be released until 2026.

However, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier said after speaking to a dozen Rockstar employees that he had not heard of a postponement.

However, given that the development has taken some time, there may still be delays.

If that happens, we probably won’t find out until a few months before the planned release date in fall 2025. At least that’s what Obbe Vermeij, former Technical Director at Rockstar North, who worked on GTA 3, GTA 4, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas, suspects.

He looks back at GTA 4, where the decision to delay was made around four months before the planned release. If GTA 6 comes later, it could be similar, he suspects.

“Further in advance it becomes difficult to make a decision,” he says.[Rockstar] is probably not in a position to decide before May whether they will make it in 2025.

He also points out that Rockstar has no reason to rush and can take its time: “GTA 6 will sell for at least ten years and there is no competition to worry about. They will not release the game until they are 100 percent of what was previously stated in the trailer.

When Grand Theft Auto 6 is released in fall 2025, it will be nearly twelve years since the release of Grand Theft Auto 5, which has since sold more than 200 million copies.
