Emotional start: Beatrice Egli reveals her biggest hurdles as a DSDS juror

Pop star Beatrice Egli is used to big stages and shows. Standing on stage and playing to a large audience has its own set of pitfalls. Not easy either: standing in front of the stage, criticizing other musicians and those who want it. But that’s exactly what the 36-year-old thrives on as a judge on the current 21st season of DSDS. Egli revealed in an interview what hurdles she has to overcome.

Beatrice Egli: Her music career began with DSDS

For Beatrice Egli, this RTL-successful format “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”, DSDS for short, plays an important role in her life. After her victory in the tenth season of the show, the Swiss woman started a music career as a pop singer. She has now released over 150 songs and has her own TV show, “Die große Beatrice-Egli-Show”. Since then, she has become an integral part of the pop world, both as a stage artist and as a topic of conversation outside of music. She is repeatedly said to have a relationship with Florian Silbereisen.

Now it was time to return to the roots. Because Beatrice Egli was RTL as a juror for the 21st season. Singer Pietro Lombardi, rapper Loredana and, of course, pop titan Dieter Bohlen will be taking their place next to her. This is tough competition for the “sunshine of the pop world”, as Egli is also known. In an interview with the lifestyle news agency spot on news Lock The Swiss woman now explains how she fared in the first few episodes and who helped her during the adjustment phase.

Beatrice Egli: “I had a lot of trouble saying no and being disappointed”

Pietro Lombardi was an important support for her at the beginning. Like Beatrice Egli, he built his career on a season win on DSDS and has been back as a juror for a while now. “Pietro has grown into his role as a juror very well. (…) I often talked to him after filming because I had a lot of trouble saying no and being disappointed at the beginning. (…) “He was a very important rock for me in my emotional moments as a juror,” says Egli.

And what role did Dieter Bohlen play in all this? The fear of witnessing the pop titan’s harsh judgments of the participants in the show seems to have subsided somewhat. Egli succinctly: “His sayings are simply part of it.” I think they have become milder.”

By the way, Dieter Bohlen makes fun of Helene Fischer – and then gets a nasty surprise.
