With these new (AI) functions, things continue

As part of “Made on YouTube 2024”, Google has introduced new features and (AI) tools for the video platform. Since last year, Dream Screen has been able to create backgrounds for YouTube Shorts. Veo is an AI tool for video generation that, based on Google DeepMinds, also brings (six-second) video clips to Dream Screen.

There are also new web-based tools for creating effects for YouTube Shorts. Effect Maker is coming in the next few months, and GenAI Puppeteering is set to join early next year.

YouTube Studio is being expanded to include the “Inspiration” section. Ideas, titles and thumbnails are created based on generative AI. As a new area, YouTube channels can create communities on their channel page. Creators and subscribers can post pictures there and exchange ideas about videos. The YouTube Studio app has an expanded area with the Community Hub. Here there are AI-supported suggestions for responding to comments in order to be able to respond to comments even as the audience grows.

In the next few months, YouTube will offer the ability to add automatically synchronized audio tracks. This will allow automatic dubbing, regardless of the language, which is its right.

The new “Hype” function is intended to give small to medium-sized channels more reach. Videos can be hyped with a new like button. The channels then end up on a weekly ranking list. Similar to Twitch, “Gifts powered by Jewels” gives viewers the opportunity to honor channels with gifts in live streams.

YouTube Shopping has moved to other countries, but still plays no role here. YouTube content will soon be able to be divided into seasons and episodes. This will make it more accessible to users on TV. There is also the option to automatically play additional channel content.
