Kirron Kher reveals she shot for India’s Got Talent during her cancer treatment; says ‘I can’t give up this show’ : Bollywood News

Bollywood actress Kirron Kher, known as a judge on India’s Got Talent, recently shared how she managed to continue shooting the show while undergoing cancer treatment. Despite the difficulties, she remained loyal to the show and fulfilled her commitment to the producers.

Kirron Kher told News18 that she had not taken up any acting projects during this time. She had moved to her hometown Chandigarh. Talking about her commitment, she said, “I only participated in India’s Got Talent and moved to Chandigarh, my hometown. I maintained my commitment to the show but avoided everything else, including films. Even when I was going through severe treatment, I participated in India’s Got Talent. I can’t give up on this show…”

Kirron Kher was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer, in 2020. Speaking about her battle with the deadly disease, she said: “Everyone is afraid that something like this might happen one day. But when it happens, you have no choice but to accept it. The treatment with all its side effects was harder than the disease itself. The first six to eight months were very tough, but you leave it to the Lord. I have always believed, even during election campaigns, ‘This is not my battle; the Lord is fighting for me.'”

She also mentioned that cancer treatment often extends over several years and requires ongoing sessions at regular intervals.

Kirron Kher, who started her acting career with Punjabi film Aasra Pyar Da in 1983, has become a prominent artist over the decades. Her notable works include roles in popular Hindi films such as Pestoje, Sardar Begum, Devdas, Main Hoon Na, Hum Tum, Veer Zaara, Mangal Pandey: The Uprising, Rang De Basanti, Fanaa, Kabhi Alvida Naa KehnaAnd Om, Shanti, OmShe has been a judge on India’s Got Talent since 2009.
