City alarm in Sankt Ingbert – fire in a high-rise building! – Blaulichtreport-Saarland.de

This morning at 11:42 a.m., the city alarm was sounded in Sankt Ingbert. Sirens blared everywhere after a fire was reported in an 11-story high-rise building. The major fire required a comprehensive fire service operation, as press spokesman Florian Jung confirmed.

When the first emergency services arrived at the scene, thick smoke was already coming from the 8th floor of the building. Due to the seriousness of the situation, the fire brigade and police immediately evacuated 150 people from the high-rise building to prevent any danger to the residents.

According to initial findings, the fire broke out in the kitchen of one of the apartments. The operation was particularly challenging for the fire brigade, as all the extinguishing material had to be transported to the 8th floor while wearing breathing apparatus. An attack team immediately began extinguishing the fire to bring it under control. After successfully extinguishing the fire, the entire building was thoroughly checked to remove the smoke.

One person was injured by the smoke and received medical treatment. The affected apartment is uninhabitable due to the damage and had to be evacuated.
