New statementHarry and Meghan: How they position themselves in the US election campaign

The 2024 elections in the United States will take place on November 5. Now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced that they will take a “publicly neutral” stance in the election campaign.

  • Prince Harry (40) and Duchess Meghan (42) are involved in the US election campaign.

  • The Archewell Foundation team has sent letters to unregistered voters to encourage them to vote in the November 5 presidential election.

  • Both the Duke and Duchess are expected to remain neutral ahead of the election and make no official recommendation.

Prince Harry (40) and Duchess Meghan (42) currently have no plans to support a presidential candidate in the next US election and will remain “publicly neutral” according to the “Telegraph”. Instead, they are now calling on the American electorate to vote.

This week, the couple celebrated National Registration Day by getting their team to send letters to unregistered voters to encourage them to vote in the upcoming U.S. election on November 5.

“Let us work together to ensure that every eligible voter is informed”

“Voting is not just a right. It is a fundamental way to influence the fate of our communities. “At the Archewell Foundation, we recognize that civic engagement, regardless of political party, is at the core of a more just world,” says a statement on the Archwell Foundation website. It concludes: “Let’s work together to ensure that every eligible voter is informed and has the opportunity to participate in shaping America’s future.”

In the last US elections, the Sussexes were accused of supporting Joe Biden. This was prompted by a video message from their garden in Montecito in which Meghan described the 2020 election campaign as the “most important election of our lifetime”.

Voting appeal from the Californian garden: Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan call for people to have a say in the 2020 US presidential election.

Prince Harry acted “inappropriately”

Harry also spoke out, saying: “I cannot vote in the US this election.” But many of you may not know that I have not been able to vote in the UK my entire life. As we approach this November, it is vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity.” The British prince caused a scandal with his statement, with many accusing him of violating the Megxit deal.

Republicans and critics of the royal family then called for the couple to be stripped of their titles because the interference of the grandson of the then monarch Queen Elizabeth was “inappropriate”. A spokesman for Buckingham Palace finally spoke out and said: “We do not wish to comment. The Duke is not an active member of the royal family and any comments he makes are in a personal capacity.” Insiders told the Times, however, that palace staff were concerned about the couple’s political statements.
