Is this what the Nintendo Switch 2 looks like?

It seems that we have a first impression of the possible successor to the Nintendo Switch Photos of the new console have allegedly appeared on Reddit from a factory worker in China. We’ll show you the pictures in this post, but there are still a few unanswered questions.

The new design is very reminiscent of the current Switch model, but features striking new features such as magnetic Joy-Cons, a microphone and a larger screen.

As is usual with such leaks, one should remain skeptical. However, Video Games Chronicle reports that the design shown corresponds to the expectations of Nintendo’s partners. Is there any truth to the story?

Is this really the Nintendo Switch 2?

There were numerous fake images before the original Switch was launched, so fans shouldn’t be surprised if the leak turns out to be false. If it is real, however, it would be remarkable how similar the new console is to its predecessor. The saying “Never change a running system” applies here: The Switch was a huge success for Nintendo, and it would be understandable that they would want to make the transition as smooth as possible for existing users. However, a design that is too similar could cause confusion for less tech-savvy users, which is something Nintendo probably wants to avoid.

Fans are already eagerly awaiting the official unveiling of the new console, which rumors suggest could take place in September 2024. However, Nintendo itself has not confirmed anything yet. If the leaked design is real, plans could accelerate and we could see an announcement soon.

Hopefully, Nintendo will soon reveal the rumored Nintendo Switch 2. It’s been over seven years since the Switch was released, and although the console is still a hit, fans can’t wait for the next generation. There are plenty of rumors about prices, features, and games, but it’s time for some solid evidence.
