Republican Anna Paulina Luna of Florida receives “very serious shooting threat”

Member of the US House of Representatives Anna Paulina LunaA Republicans from Floridareported a “very serious Shooting threat” in her office on Wednesday. This happened shortly after the second Assassination on former President Donald Trump at his golf club in West Palm Beach on Sunday, resulting in the arrest of 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh.
Luna expressed concern about the “division and hate campaign against republican” could result in someone being killed. She vowed not to be intimidated or to bow to those who use violence as a means to achieve their goals, saying: “We will win.”

Luna said she has experienced an increasing number of threats and doxxing attacks in recent weeks, including an online page that encouraged people to send threatening packages to her home. “This weekend, the situation escalated into a very serious shooting threat and we are taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety of my family, our staff and our district,” she said in a post on X.
The congressman criticized the left for promoting a “radical agenda of hate and rhetoric that leads to violence.” “Just hours before this threat to my office, we witnessed a second assassination attempt on President Trump. We will not be threatened or intimidated by those who use violence to push their narrative and try to win an election,” Luna added.

Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis announced that Florida would conduct its own investigation into the Trump assassination, believing it would not be in the state’s best interest to have the same federal agencies seeking to prosecute Trump lead the investigation. DeSantis signed an executive order assigning the case to the state attorney general’s office under the supervision of Attorney General Ashley Moody.
The suspect in the Trump assassination attempt appeared in federal court on Monday and is charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person (convicted felon) and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, according to the first indictment. Additional charges are expected to follow.
