Coldplay fans call on the band to rule out higher prices for tour tickets after the Oasis dispute

Coldplay fans call on the band to rule out higher prices for tour tickets after the Oasis dispute

One fan described the practice as “predatory” after two standing tickets that cost £85 each for Wembley that same year were offered for sale for £526.30.

The band – consisting of Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion – remains one of the most popular and highest-grossing music acts of all time.

On Tuesday they announced they will perform at Craven Park in Hull for the first time on August 18 and 19, before a six-date run at Wembley Stadium.

To prevent local fans from missing out on tickets, they have reserved 50 percent of Hull tickets for nearby residents using a postcode system.

In addition, a limited number of “affordable” Infinity tickets will be available for sale, costing a maximum of £20.

They have been cleared for every Coldplay show on their record-breaking “Music of the Spheres” world tour, which they have been running for two years.

The band said their six shows at Wembley will be powered entirely by solar, wind and kinetic energy, which they said was “a world first for a stadium show”.

It was previously announced in June that the band’s current tour had so far generated 59 percent fewer CO2 emissions than the previous stadium tour in 2016-17.

They plan to release their tenth studio album, ‘Moon Music’, next month and have claimed it will be their “most environmentally friendly” record.

General sales for Wembley and Hull will begin at 9am BST on Friday 27 September, following a pre-sale the day before for those who pre-ordered the new album.
