How to watch Patriots vs. Jets: NFL Week 3 free live stream

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Jets will host the New England Patriots on “Thursday Night Football” Sept. 19 in a clash of AFC East rivals. The game will be available exclusively on Prime Video, which is offering a free trial, with kickoff at 8:15 p.m. Eastern time.

Prime Video is Amazon’s video streaming service and is offered with a free trial. The broadcast includes live commentator Al Michaels, game analyst Kirk Herbstreit and sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung.

Both teams enter the game at 1-1, although both entered the season with different expectations. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers earned his first win with the franchise last Sunday, defeating the Tennessee Titans 24-17 on the road.

The Patriots, on the other hand, have played surprisingly well under new head coach Jerod Mayo. In the first week, they beat the Cincinnati Bengals on the road before losing their first home game to the Seattle Seahawks in overtime by a narrow 23-20 score.

PATRIOTS – JETS Matchup Preview

Rodgers’ arrival in New York ahead of the 2023 season finally gave long-suffering Jets fans something to hope for. But a season-ending Achilles tear dashed those hopes just four snaps into the season and the team missed the playoffs for the 13th consecutive year.

But now that the four-time MVP is healthy again, fans are optimistic again. Rodgers and the Jets’ offense haven’t exactly caused a stir, though. He’s only thrown for 343 yards and three touchdowns so far, and the team is at the bottom of the league. But rookie running back Braelon Allen is at least giving Gang Green reason to be happy. The 20-year-old dual-threat from Wisconsin scored two touchdowns against the Titans.

They will face a Patriots defense that entered the season with depth concerns but has played well in the first two games. However, those concerns have grown significantly since linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley, the defensive captain and one of their best players on that side of the ball, suffered a season-ending pectoral injury last week.

Still, the Patriots’ tough defense is their best bet against the Jets. Veteran Jacoby Brissett, who is holding down the QB1 spot until No. 3 pick Drake Meye is ready, has served primarily as a check-down quarterback behind a young, struggling offensive line. But the one-two punch in the backfield of Antonio Gibson and Rhamondre Stevenson has made up for inefficiencies in the passing game. The pair have combined for 315 yards on the ground, contributing to the league’s fifth-best running attack.

PATRIOTS – JETS – Summary of the last game

Both teams are 1-1 after playing close games outside their division in Week 2. Last year, the teams split their two games. The Patriots lead the all-time series 74-55-1 and have beaten the Jets eight straight times at MetLife Stadium.

Patriots: They lost their first home game in overtime to the Seahawks 23-20 when Jason Myers kicked a 31-yard field goal in overtime after the Patriots were up by three points on the first possession of overtime and were eliminated.

Nozzles: Defeated the Titans 24-17 at Nissan Stadium when Braelon Allen scored a 20-yard touchdown run with 4:31 left in the game.

Notable injuries to the PATRIOTS and JETS

New England will sorely miss Ja’Whaun Bentley. The seven-year veteran finished last season with 114 tackles and 4.5 sacks and recorded 12 tackles in the Week 1 win over Cincinnati.

Patriots: LB Ja’Whaun Bentley (out), LB Oshane Ximines (questionable), WR Kendrick Bourne (out), G Cole Strange (out)

Nozzles: LB Jermaine Johnson II (out), LB CJ Mosely (questionable), CB DJ Reed (questionable), CB Michael Carter II (questionable)

PATRIOTS – JETS players in the spotlight

Patriots punter Bryce Baringer is looking to extend his streak of winning with at least one 50-yard punt to 20 games. Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is off to a slow start after two consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

Patriots: RB Antonio Gibson (96 rush yards, 11 runs against SEA), TE Hunter Henry (109 rec. yards against SEA), DE Keion White (4 sacks in 2 games)

Nozzles: DE Will McDonald IV (3 sacks vs. TEN), RB Breece Hall (114 total yards, 1 TD vs. TEN), QB Aaron Rodgers (3 TDs, 1 INT, 92.2 RTG in 2024)
