“Today is a victory for women around the world”

Musician Aubrey O’Day expressed his relief on social media that a New York federal judge denied bail to Sean “Diddy” Combs after he pleaded not guilty to a sex trafficking case.

News of the verdict was announced on Tuesday.

The judge ruled that Diddy will remain in custody following his arrest on Monday evening.

According to BBC reports, Diddy is accused of running a criminal organization since at least 2008 in which he used drugs and violence to force women to “fulfill his sexual desires,” according to prosecutors.

The publication further states that a 14-page indictment accuses him of extortion, sexual abuse and transportation for the purpose of prostitution.

Aubrey, who had previously spoken about her years of negative collaboration with Diddy, said after the news broke that the verdict was a victory not only for her, but for all women.

On September 17, the singer tweeted: “The purpose of ‘Justice’ is to create closure and give us the space to start a new chapter.”

She went on to say that she felt validated.

“Women never understand this. I feel vindicated. Today is a victory for women all over the world, not just for me. Things are finally changing.”
