Gert “Charly” Dörfel, the Hamburger SV legend, turns 85 today. The former winger played 423 competitive matches and scored 144 goals for the club during his playing days. “A legend celebrates his special day,” wrote the HSV on X, recalling Dörfel’s numerous successes and stories at the club.

Dörfel was HSV’s first goalscorer in the Bundesliga and played a key role in the club’s major successes in the 1960s, including the German championship in 1960 and the DFB Cup victory in 1963. Further information and birthday greetings can be found on the official HSV website.

Hamburger SV congratulated its former player Sergej Barbarez on his 53rd birthday. In a post on X, the club wrote: “Happy Birthday, Sergej #Barbarez. We wish you all the best on your 53rd birthday.”

Barbarez played for HSV from 2000 to 2006 and became a real club legend during this time: he scored 65 goals in 174 Bundesliga games and won the DFB Cup in 2003. His greatest success was winning the top scorer award in the 2000/01 season with 22 goals. He set a Bundesliga record with 14 header goals in one season.

Hamburger SV celebrates Jean-Luc Dompé for his best performance in the match against SV Wehen Wiesbaden. “Mon dieu, that was a strong sub performance from @Dompé91,” wrote the club on the portal X, acknowledging the three points scored by the winger, who was voted “Hapag-Lloyd AG Man of the Match.”

Dompé impressed as a substitute and contributed significantly to his team’s success. “You have rightly voted our winger @HapagLloydAG Man of the Match after his three points,” the tweet continued.

Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer and Jean-Luc Dompeé made club history in Hamburger SV’s clear 5-0 win against Jahn Regensburg on Sunday. Both players landed in the HSV top 10 lists with their performances. The club announced this on its website on Monday.

The game began on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Volksparkstadion with a bang: some of the 53,779 spectators were not yet in their seats when Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer scored the 1-0 lead after just 45 seconds apiece. With this confident goal, the 22-year-old secured a place among the top 10 fastest HSV goal scorers. This list has been kept since 1971 by Franz-Josef “Bubi” Hönig, who scored after just 14 seconds. Königsdörffer stands alongside legends such as Harald Spörl and Uwe Seeler, who are featured on the list several times.
