Battlefield Next: These studios are working on the shooter

As part of the “Investor Day 2024” presentation, EA gave us further details about the upcoming offshoot of the “Battlefield” series. In addition to information about the studios involved, the publisher announced community tests that should enable the developers to collect feedback as early as possible.

In the “Investor Day 2024” presentation EA also talked about the upcoming shooter. As confirmed a while ago, the new “Battlefield” is a joint project between several studios. As part of the “Investor Day 2024”, EA will go into more detail about the studios involved and their tasks.

As EA confirmed, four studios are currently working on the next “Battlefield” project with DICE, EA Motive, Criterion Games and Ripple Effect, covering different areas of responsibility.

According to EA’s Laura Miele, the publisher wants to give the studios the time they need to develop the shooter series after “Battlefield 2042” to its former strength. Unsurprisingly, the developers at DICE will be responsible for the multiplayer component of the new “Battlefields”.

EA Motive, the studio behind the remake of “Dead Space” and “Star Wars: Squadrons”According to Miele, will work on the single-player content of the next “Battlefield” title.



The two studios receive support from Criterion Games. “Need for Speed: Unbound”-makers will be involved in both the campaign and the multiplayer of the next “Battlefields”. The fourth and final studio involved in the development is Ripple Effect.

In this regard, Miele added that Ripple Effect is working on “a new Battlefield experience that will be unveiled at a later date.” Unconfirmed reports could be found here It could be a Battle Royal mode.

According to EA, the developers will place great value on feedback from the community. In order to collect this as early as possible, EA and the studios involved will rely on large-scale community tests. This confirmed Byron Beede, general manager of the Battlefield series.



“I also want to share with you internally that we have been playing the game almost daily for well over a year,” Beede said. “In addition to internal testing cycles, we are already testing with players and plan to roll out a new large-scale, community-driven testing program early next year.”
