Novak Djokovic is currently letting things come to him

Family first. This is the motto Novak Djokovic wants to follow for the rest of his tennis career. At least immediately. Before an exhibition match against Grigor Dimitrov in Sofia, the Paris 2024 Olympic champion indicated that he no longer has any major goals on the ATP Tour this season.

“For the first time in my career, I have no long-term plans,” Djokovic also said. I live for the moment. And we’ll see what happens. Today I’m playing in Sofia, then in China and then in the exhibition match in Saudi Arabia. After that, I don’t know what to do.”

Djokovic: “Family life is very important to me”

Djokovic is actually on the entry list for the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Shanghai. If he does plan to go, he would need a few more ATP points. In the annual ranking, the Race to Turin, Novak Djokovic is only in ninth place. However, he recently said during the Davis Cup in Belgrade against Greece that this is no longer particularly important to him.

“We’ll see how I feel,” Djokovic added. “Family life is very important to me. I’ll be with my wife and children and part of everyday life. I have to balance things out. I still want to chase titles and records. But at the same time I have to prioritize some tournaments over others.”
