Money and dating: Can love be bought after all?

A study from the USA shows that for almost half of Generation Z, bank balance is more important than sex, and a fifth prefer money to love. Experts suspect that young people in Germany are also increasingly paying attention to financial security when looking for a partner. Economic uncertainty and fears about the future could mean that money is more important than emotional compatibility. Nevertheless, dealing with money can also be a positive development if couples talk openly about financial issues when they are getting to know each other. Relationships can be rich, but different attitudes towards money can lead to conflict. Therefore, it is important to talk about money regularly when dating, without putting too much emphasis on the topic. Ultimately, looking for true love can be financially worthwhile, as married couples are on average twice as rich as singles.
