Grasshoppers Nursery in Fulwood suspended from care during Ofsted investigation

The statement said: “We are taking this step because we have reasonable grounds to believe that the continued provision of child care could put children at risk.”

“The purpose of the suspension is to buy time for further investigations and/or for taking steps to reduce or eliminate any risk of harm.

“A suspension does not automatically mean that a provider is unsuitable for future care or that we will cancel a registration. We only take steps to cancel a registration if we believe a provider is no longer suitable for childcare.

“It is a criminal offence to provide childcare that requires registration during a lockdown.”

The existing social media accounts and contact numbers for Grasshoppers Nursery are no longer active.

The nature of the incident that led to this decision is not yet clear. During the last Ofsted inspection in 2021, the nursery was rated ‘Good’ in all areas.
