Liveable and lovable gateway to the Ybbstal

Liveable and lovable gateway to the Ybbstal

KEMATEN/YBBS. The market town of Kematen/Ybbs offers its citizens a good home in every situation. Mayor Juliana Günther (ÖVP) gives an overview of current community events in the Tips interview.

Tips: Madam Mayor, what is currently happening in the market town of Kematen an der Ybbs?

JulianaGünther: Children and families are very important to me. I am therefore particularly pleased that the expansion of the kindergarten was completed at the end of August, apart from a few remaining works. In line with the childcare initiative promoted by the state of Lower Austria, we can now welcome all children from the age of two to the kindergarten, as long as the parents feel there is a need for it. In addition, childcare is now integrated into the kindergarten entrance. The rose garden was also created at the cemetery. This offers the possibility of burial using a biodegradable urn, which is buried in the rose garden. Nameplates that can be attached to a stone tablet commemorate the deceased. This should offer the bereaved a comparatively inexpensive and maintenance-free alternative to conventional grave sites. The inauguration will take place on September 20th, as will the inauguration of the renovated Kreuzstöckl and the hut on the Kreuzstöcklberg – a place of power for the people of Kematen. I am particularly pleased that the wayside shrine has been restored by Michael Schretthauser and now shines in new splendor. A new, longer railing will provide the necessary fall protection. In addition, existing residential streets will be renovated. I also hope that the cycle bridge will be built. This is a project for the future – especially for young people, who will then be able to get to the station more easily and safely by bike. This project is currently in the assessment phase.

Tips: What makes the market town of Kematen/Ybbs special and where should it go?

Günther: Kematen is considered a livable and lovable gateway to the Ybbstal. It is a transit town with many natural beauties and a top infrastructure on both sides of the main road. With Ybbsbad, Schneerosenweg & Co. we have many leisure opportunities, as well as a good pub culture, numerous clubs, good medical care, great educational institutions, assisted living – in short: a top offer for all generations that should be maintained and expanded if possible. We have also allocated building plots and all options for expanding businesses. If you are interested, just contact the municipal office!
