United Football League announces start date for spring 2025

Spring football will return for another year.

The United Football League will start its 2025 season on March 28. Yes, you read that right. The new season starts on a Friday evening.

As part of its new schedule, the UFL is expanding its weekend games to include Friday nights. The league will use a 10-week regular season schedule before teams attempt to advance to their conference championship games. The season is scheduled to conclude with the UFL championship game on June 14.

“The addition of Friday nights to our spring football schedule shows how strong our league has become,” UFL President and CEO Russ Brandon said in a statement. “Our teams have worked diligently this offseason to prepare for 2025 and look forward to putting that work into action and sharing it with our fans in season two.”

The new year marks the second year of the league’s existence. The UFL was formed in 2023 through the merger of the XFL and USFL.

UFL games will once again be broadcast on major networks such as ESPN, ABC and FOX. Ten of the league’s Friday night games are scheduled to air on FOX.
