Football Leaks conviction: ManCity could lose Rodri

For years, Rodri has been an indispensable part of Manchester City’s midfield. The 28-year-old Spaniard delivers top performances season after season, is strong in tackles and confident on the ball, and has underlined his value to the club with decisive goals in the most important games. At the European Championships in the summer, the Madrid-born player not only won the title with Spain, he was also named player of the tournament.

The number six’s contract runs until 2027, but according to information from ‘The Athletic’, the Citizens want to present Rodri with a new contract soon. This should reflect the player’s value and also provide an incentive to turn down any offers in the future. These are expected to come primarily from his hometown. Real Madrid is considered to be a major interest party and wants to bring the European champion to Spain.

Carvajal lures Rodri to Real

If convicted, the club faces massive penalties, including forced relegation and a multi-year ban from European competitions.
