Jesse Lingard is being ‘investigated by police’ in South Korea over a now-deleted post after the former Man Utd star spoke out

Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard joined FC Seoul in February.

Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard is reportedly under police investigation in South Korea.

Lingard, 31, joined Korean club FC Seoul in February after being released by Nottingham Forest at the end of the 2022/23 season.

He has scored four goals in 18 games for the Korean club, including two in his last three, and the former United man is showing signs of returning to form after a difficult start in Asian football.

However, reports from South Korea on Tuesday said that former England international Lingard is now under police investigation.

Korean news channel YTN claims that Gangnam Police in Seoul have launched a “preliminary investigation” against Lingard.

He is accused of riding an electric scooter without a driver’s license in the Seoul district of Apgujeong-dong on Monday evening.

Lingard is said to have uploaded a picture of himself on the scooter to Snapchat and later deleted it.

The police have been informed of the incident and have now begun investigations.

SPORTbible has asked Lingard’s representative for comment.

Former United attacking midfielder Lingard took to social media on Tuesday to update his fans on his situation.

“Back on X, Korea is amazing. I’m enjoying my football and I’m in a happy place,” he posted on X, followed by a heart emoji.
