Falcons force Eagles to their knees in last-minute thriller

The Atlanta Falcons defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 22:21 in a thriller on Monday night.

While the first quarter ended scoreless, it was Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo who scored the longest field goal of the game (39 yards) in the second quarter. After a touchdown by Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith and another field goal by Koo, the halftime score was 7:6 for the Eagles.

In the third quarter, Koo put the NFC South franchise ahead 9-7 with another field goal before Jake Elliott also scored a field goal for Philadelphia. Darnell Mooney scored the first Falcons touchdown. After a missed two-point conversion, the third quarter ended with Atlanta leading 15-10.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts scored a one-yard touchdown to give the franchise the lead in the NFC East, and Saquon Barkley successfully converted the two-point conversion. Because the Falcons failed to score again, Elliott seized the opportunity and increased the score to 21:15 for the Eagles with 1:39 minutes left in the game.

Everything looks like it will be the second home win of the season for the team around head coach Nick Sirianni. But with 34 seconds to go, the Falcons equalize the score to 21:21 with a touchdown from Drake London, and Koo puts the Falcons ahead 22:21 per point after the touchdown.

The Eagles get the ball again, but with 27 seconds left, the defeat is sealed. Falcons safety Jessie Bates III intercepts a Hurts pass on their own 32-yard line, sealing the win.
