The German pay-TV channel 13th Street is importing “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent” today. The Canadian crime thriller will be broadcast in double episodes.

Today, Tuesday, September 17th at 8:15 p.m., the Canadian series Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent will celebrate its German premiere in double episodes on 13th Street. Ten episodes are scheduled for the first season. It was emphasized beforehand that the series is about new stories, written by Canadian creatives and played by Canadian actors.

Like the US model, it is about an elite unit of investigators who focus on crime and large-scale corruption (including murder) in Toronto. The showrunner is Tassie Cameron (Rookie Blue), and the executive producers are Erin Haskett, Amy Cameron, David Valleau, Alex Patrick and Holly Dale.

The cast includes Aden Young (Rectify) as Detective Sergeant Henry Graff, Kathleen Munroe (City on Fire) as Detective Sergeant Frankie Bateman, Karen Robinson (Schitt’s Creek) as Inspector Vivienne Holness, KC Collins (The Cleaning Lady) as Deputy Crown Attorney Theo Forrester, Nicola Correia-Damude (Shadowhunters) as forensic pathologist Dr. Lucy Da Silva and Araya Mengesha (“Nobody”) as tech expert Mark Yohannes.

The American original, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, was set in New York City and aired for ten seasons. In Germany, it was at times the most successful of the Law & Order series, even though it was only shown on VOX under the shortened title “Criminal Intent”. The main actors were Vincent D’Onofrio as Detective Robert Goren and Kathryn Erbe as Detective Alexandra Eames.
