First trailer for the new true crime film from the star of “Emily in Paris”

Prime Video has released the first trailer for the new true crime film Freedomwith Emily in Paris Actor Lucas Bravo, ahead of its release later this year.

The film was directed by Mélanie Laurent and is inspired by the true story of French robber Bruno Sulak, played by Bravo. The film will premiere on the streaming service on. 1 November.

“Inspired by the exploits of a legendary outlaw in France in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Freedom follows the electrifying story of Bruno Sulak, an elegant and daring criminal who conquers hearts as well as riches,” says the film’s official synopsis.

“Known for his charm and finesse, Sulak has planned daring heists without firing a single shot,” the logline continues.

But the more famous Sulak became, the more relentless his pursuit by George Moréas (Yvan Attal), a tenacious police commissioner with a gift for outsmarting criminals, became.

“As Moréas draws closer, Sulak’s prison escapes become legendary, fueled by his lust for freedom and a burning desire for his lover Annie (Léa Luce Busato),” the synopsis continues.

“Amid the chaos of their criminal spree, Sulak and Annie become the ultimate symbols of resistance in the most thrilling game of cat-and-mouse to grip the nation.”

In the exciting trailer, Bravo’s character Bruno is seen entering a supermarket with a gun while his lover Annie waits in the parking lot.

“Ladies and gentlemen, stop, this is a robbery,” he shouts to a group of frightened customers. “Stay calm and nothing will happen to you if you do what I say.”

After committing dozens of robberies in the area, Bruno becomes known to the police and makes the news – but he manages to remain unseen.

“We steal from bigger thieves than ourselves,” he tells his partner before Annie describes him as a kind of Robin Hood.

Later, the police continue their search for the outlaw and Commissioner Moréas reveals: “You know that all the police and friends are looking for you. We will catch you in a week, in a month, in a year.”

“I don’t really like being forced to do anything by anyone,” Bruno replies, before admitting that he is “free” after choosing a life of crime.

Freedom is Laurent’s sixth film as a director, with the filmmaker also writing the screenplay with her partner Chris Deslandes. The film also stars Rasha Bukvic, Steve Tientcheu, David Murgia, Léo Chalié and Slimane Dazi.

As for Bravo, the actor recently reprised his role as Gabriel in the fourth chapter of the Netflix series Emily in ParisThe series has now been renewed for a fifth season.

Freedom will premiere on Prime Video on November 1st.
