Dresden late-night shop robbed for the second time: 1000 euros stolen

Dresden- Again “Aunt Emma”, again the same employee (43). On Friday evening, a duo with a knife and a hatchet stormed the popular late-night shop on Augsburger Straße in Dresden Striesen district and stole 1000 euros from the cash register.

“Normally, Friday evening is our peak business hours,” recalls the late-night shop employee.

“This time it was empty because of the weather.”

But at 10:07 p.m. two young men suddenly came into the store – one pulled out a knife, the other holding a meat cleaver in his hand.

“The man with the knife was standing next to me very quickly,” says the victim.

“The other one raised the axe threateningly.” As in the previous robbery in March 2023, the words “Give me the money, yallah!” were uttered.

But back then, the perpetrator, who has not yet been caught, was white and had blue eyes – “this time the men had darker skin and dark hair.”

Within seconds, the two robbers were gone with 1,000 euros from the cash register, fleeing towards Hüblerplatz. “You already have a queasy feeling when you go to work,” says the victim. “But I always tell myself that it’s not about me, it’s just about the money.”

Späti boss Torsten Wiesner (45) will now open a third Raid prevent: “We will no longer have large amounts of cash in the store. In addition, we are now installing even better cameras.” The criminal investigation department has begun its investigation.
