Gilching takes part in “Parking Day” – Starnberg

“Less metal, more life”: This is the motto of “Parking Day”, which takes place every year on the third Friday in September and shows in many cities around the world how enormous the amount of space used by parked cars is. For a few hours, parking spaces are transformed into livable places. This means, for example, seating is created and tables, carpets and flower pots are set up. It also shows that games, quizzes and information offers in public spaces can help people experience a new perspective together.

The General German Bicycle Club (ADFC), with the support of the Greens, will also be active in Gilching on Friday, September 20th, from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., converting parking spaces on Gilching’s Römerstrasse near the market square into a “PARK space.” The organizers hope that there will be many encounters and interesting discussions on the topic of mobility. If it rains, the event will be canceled.
