Bad Gottleuba – Customs officers arrested a smuggler just across the border on the night of 13 September. Czech Republic picked up.

According to the Dresden main customs office, a car with Bulgarian license plates that was on its way to the Federal Republic of Germany was stopped at the “Am Heidenholz” rest area near Bad Gottleuba.

During the inspection of the car, it turned out that the officers had the right instinct. They found cigarettes in the interior and noticed “various irregularities” on the side panels.

Upon closer inspection, the customs officers discovered more cigarettes there, as well as in a suitcase with a false bottom.

After the “finds” were collected and counted, it emerged that the 34-year-old driver wanted to smuggle around 10,000 cigarettes.

Through their inspection, the customs officials prevented a tax loss of more than 2,200 euros. Tax criminal proceedings were initiated against the Bulgarians on the spot.
