How to prepare optimally for the shopping event

How to prepare optimally for the shopping event

In recent years, there has been a Prime Day event in the summer and one in the fall – usually at a reasonable distance from Cyber Week at the end of November with Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Now Amazon has confirmed in a blog post what many customers had already suspected. This will be the case again this year. The “Prime Big Deal Days 2024” will take place in October (a few weeks ago they were simply talking about the “Prime Deal Days”). Amazon has not officially announced it yet, but retailers and corresponding service providers in the context of Amazon advertising are already asking their customers what offers and conditions they want to launch with as part of the lightning deals.

However, the retailers concerned do not yet know the exact date – but the industry is again assuming that it could be a date in calendar week 41. Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th October are being discussed, but a date exactly one week later would also be conceivable, since Prime Day is a little later this year due to calendar reasons. However, a later date could have a negative impact on the shopping events Singles Day (November 11th, 2024) and Black Friday (November 29th, 2024).

So you prepare yourself optimally for Prime Day

Customers and bargain hunters should keep their eyes open now – and prepare for certain things. Because once again a valid Prime membership is required in order to benefit from the corresponding offers. In many cases it is also difficult to assess which products are real bargains and what might be even cheaper on Black Friday.

We have put together a list of products that are good to buy on Prime Day and which ones you should avoid. In general, there are a few things to consider before the bargain battle – we have summarized what they are in this guide.

One thing is certain: Amazon will once again usher in the big offer battle – and, as in previous years, customers will be able to benefit from a variety of promotions and special offers. But not just Amazon: In recent years, Prime Day has become a sales booster for smaller retailers in particular, with Amazon simultaneously increasing their sales through offers and promotions – and conveying that Amazon is also giving smaller retailers a chance. In addition, as in the previous year, there may be some offers where you have to put yourself on a waiting list in advance to purchase them due to the high demand.

In total, Prime Day will take place in 19 markets again – and even if not all of them are easily accessible for German customers in terms of customs and shipping, it is worth taking a look at France, Italy or Spain, for example. In addition, you should install an important tool in your browser in advance, Keepa, as an extension. We explain how it works and what you can do with it in this guide.
