NFL: Kansas City has the last word in the hit

NFL: Kansas City has the last word in the hit

In front of pop superstar Taylor Swift, the AFC rivals went back and forth at Arrowhead Stadium, with the lead changing hands five times in total before Butker had the final say. Mahomes and Co. were just about to face a fourth down with 16 yards to overcome from a penalty against the Bengals.

Both quarterbacks threw two touchdown passes each, Mahomes also threw two interceptions, Burrow lost the ball once, which subsequently led to a Chiefs touchdown. The Bengals, in the Super Bowl in 2022, started the season with two losses, as they have in the past two years. But both men made it to the playoffs.

Harrison Butker kept his nerve at the end and scored from 51 yards to win

“These are two great football teams that we played against in the opening game,” said Mahomes, whose Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens a week ago, and threatened the competition. “We will clean up our mistakes, especially on offense. That starts with me. We will be a better team.” The Chiefs are aiming for a third Super Bowl victory in a row – it would be a first.

Title contenders slip up, Rodgers celebrates first win

There were surprising defeats for some other title contenders on Sunday. The San Francisco 49ers suffered a 17-23 loss away from home to the Minnesota Vikings, where wide receiver Justin Jefferson had a 97-yard touchdown but suffered a minor injury.

The Detroit Lions were beaten 16-20 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a repeat of the play-off duel, the Dallas Cowboys were defeated 19-44 by the New Orleans Saints – Alvin Kamara scored four touchdowns – and the Baltimore Ravens with Lamar Jackson started with two defeats after a 23-26 home loss against the Las Vegas Raiders, as they last did in 2015.

Aaron Rodgers celebrated the first victory in almost two years. The veteran quarterback, who was out last season after just four plays with a torn Achilles tendon, led the New York Jets to a 24:17 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The 40-year-old threw two touchdown passes to his running backs Breece Hall and Braelon Allen, the defense brought the victory over time, but lost a key player in Jermaine Johnson with a suspected torn Achilles tendon for the rest of the season.

Raimann and Colts lose at Lambeau Field

Bernhard Raimann and the Indianapolis Colts lost their second game of the season. On Sunday, the team with the Austrian offensive line player did not look good for a long time against the Green Bay Packers and only caught up in the last quarter. Even without their injured star quarterback Jordan Love, who was replaced by Malik Willis, the Packers won 16:10.

The Colts’ defense had no answer to their first success of the new season, and the running game paved the way for their first success of the season. Running back Josh Jacobs alone managed 32 runs and gained 151 yards. For the Packers, it was their twelfth consecutive home win of the season, and Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson threw three interceptions.
