US election campaign: Donald Trump impersonates Taylor Swift on social media

The Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, has Taylor Swift attacked again. “I hate Taylor Swift,” the former president wrote in capital letters on his online platform Truth Social.

After the TV debate between
Trump and the Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris, Swift had announced on Instagram that she would vote for Harris in the election on November 5. “I consider her to be a calm, gifted leader and believe that we can accomplish so much more in this country when we are led by calm, not chaos,” the singer wrote.

Millions of likes for Instagram post

Trump initially reacted angrily. He said he was “not a Taylor fan” and that Swift would “probably pay a price” for her statement in the music market. Swift’s Instagram post was liked by more than ten million fans; more than 280 million people follow her on the platform.

At the MTV Video Music Awards last week, Swift also called on people to register to vote in the presidential election.
