Exciting duel between UFC Attergau and SV Bad Goisern ended 2:3 – Football Upper Austria – Results, tables and scorers from all Upper Austria leagues.

In the fifth round of the 1st class south (Upper Austria), UFC Attergau and SV Kieninger-Bau Bad Goisern met. The party offered plenty of entertainment from the start and ended with a narrow 2:3 victory for the guests from Bad Goisern. After a balanced first half, which ended in a 2:2 draw, a counterattack goal in the second half decided the game in favor of the guests.

Ups and downs in the first half

The match began turbulently and in the 6th minute the home team had the first big chance, which was however cleared by one of their own players on the line.

The first goal didn’t take long to arrive. In the 8th minute, Fabian Gschwandtner from SV Bad Goisern scored the 0:1, albeit from a suspected offside position. UFC Attergau was unimpressed and pushed for an equalizer. They managed to do so in the 28th minute through Dominik Schiemer, who scored with a header after a corner.

Just two minutes later, Attergau even took the lead. Simon Sagerer scored the 2-1 in the 30th minute after he used the tip of his foot to send a high ball into the goal in the penalty area. But the guests’ response was not long in coming: Justin Engleitner scored the 2-2 in the 31st minute after the ball bounced off the post after a free kick and fell at his feet.

The remaining minutes of the first half were marked by further chances and a lecture from the referee to the visiting coach, without any further goals being scored.

Suspense and decision in the second half

UFC Attergau continued its efforts in the second tight period and had another great chance in the 58th minute, but a header just missed the goal.

The decisive goal was scored in the 62nd minute for SV Bad Goisern. After a quick counterattack, two Goisern players were alone in front of the UFC Attergau goalkeeper, and Thomas Bruckenberger pushed in after a cross pass and made it 2:3. The Attergau team did not let themselves be discouraged and continued to try to equalize. But even the best chance in the 64th minute, when the UFC Attergau goalkeeper shot the ball at Bruckenberger’s head and it rolled just past the goal, was unsuccessful.

The final minutes were exciting again. UFC Attergau celebrated what appeared to be an equaliser in the 89th minute, but the goal was disallowed for offside. In the end, the party ended after 94 minutes with a 2:3 defeat for SV Bad Goisern.

“Nobody believed that we would play today. Despite this, the pitch conditions were actually OK. Attergau certainly had more of the game in the first half. Luckily, we were able to make it 2:2 straight after the home team’s goals. We changed the system a little during the break, as we had worked well in the second half. After our opening goal, we hardly conceded anything else. “We were able to adjust the game. In terms of fighting spirit, it was a top performance!”
