“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Donald Trump rants after star endorses Kamala Harris | US News

Donald Trump has said he hates Taylor Swift – just days after the pop star endorsed his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris.

In an all caps post on his Truth social media account, Mr Trump wrote: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

After the debate between Trump and Harris last week Fast told her 284 million followers on Instagram that she intends to vote for Mrs Harris, the current US Vice President.

She said it was because “she is fighting for the rights and causes that I believe need a fighter to represent them.”

Mr Trump initially dismissed Swift’s support of his presidential rival by simply saying that he was “not a Taylor fan“.

But since then, opinion polls have shown Harris making significant ground on Trump in what is expected to be a close presidential election on November 5, and the former president has toughened his rhetoric against one of the most successful musicians in history.

Swift’s post in support of Ms Harris received over nine million likes, fueling speculation that it could boost the Democrat’s chances of winning the presidential election.

Others argue that celebrity endorsements don’t make much difference in the US election, since much of Swift’s fan base would likely have voted Democrat anyway.

After Trump’s online outburst, the Harris team tried to taunt him with a pun-filled press release referencing Swift’s songs.

“Mr. Not Good at All has spent this week processing his emotions, whining about his champagne problems, and spending absolutely no time addressing the problems of the American people,” the statement said.

It continues: “His talk, his shouting and his constant conspiracy theories lead many to question whether the man is ‘too emotional’ to be president.”

“Call it what you will, but to the smallest person who ever lived, it is nothing new.”

Referring to his performance at the presidential debate earlier this week, it goes on to say that the Trump campaign team has been unable to shake off the simmering hostility between Trump, his vice presidential candidate and his own party.
