Salzburg already has three catch-up dates – Now the Champions League start in Prague awaits

A planned transfer to TSG Hoffenheim in the summer fell through: central defender Oumar Solet from FC Red Bull Salzburg failed the medical. The Frenchman, who was keen to leave, did not play a single test match or a new competitive match for the Austrian Bundesliga club this season, was obviously no longer even in the squad and always just sat in the stands. Now the 24-year-old’s contract has been terminated. Solet joined the “Red Bulls” from Olympique Lyon in 2020, and in four seasons he played a total of 106 matches, scored four goals and provided five assists. He has not yet found a new club.

The party on the newly laid lawn in Wals-Siezenheim against Austria Klagenfurt, which was cancelled for Saturday including the family day, is now the third in total for the runner-up that has had to be postponed. As a result, the schedule in the autumn is getting tighter and tighter, and coach Pepijn Lijnders’ team is already two games behind the competition in the league – which explains why they are currently only in 5th place in the table. Salzburg’s second-round match in the ÖFB Cup against Wiener Viktoria will be rescheduled for September 25th, and the home game against TSV Hartberg will not take place until December 4th. The party against Klagenfurt has not yet been rescheduled.

FC Liefering also had to take a break in the second division: the game against FAC Vienna did not take place due to the extreme weather conditions.
