Burglars steal BMWs in Leipzig! The tour ended in Colditz

Leipzig/Colditz – A trio of particularly brazen thieves were on Saturday Leipzig The police have been caught.

The gang of burglars broke into a single-family home on Rathenaustrasse through a basement window on Saturday night. In the entrance area, the thieves found three vehicle keys, which they used to steal two BMWs parked in the yard.

However, the perpetrators did not get very far: the police were able to locate the cars in Badergasse in Colditz on Saturday morning. The license plates had already been replaced with stolen ones.

Shortly afterwards, two men (25/German, 35/Portuguese) and a woman (43/German) approached the vehicles. The police ordered them to stop. The woman and the 25-year-old complied. The 35-year-old fled, but was also caught by the police a short time later, although he resisted.

When the officers searched the trio, they found all three stolen vehicle keys. The 35-year-old also had illegal pyrotechnics, narcotics and a gas-powered weapon with him.

The two men were provisionally arrested and the 43-year-olds were released after police proceedings had been completed.

The two BMWs were confiscated. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
