Users of multiple Garmin smartwatches will receive many improvements with the help of a software update and will no longer be affected by certain errors. This should result in a better experience in many situations.

Garmin is very active in providing older smartwatches with new functions and also tackling major and minor errors. The updates for the wearables are usually first tested in great detail in a beta program and only then rolled out to a broad user base. Updating the software is usually completely problem-free and can be done without a physical connection to a computer, but conveniently via Bluetooth or WiFi.

With software version 18.14, Garmin is currently rolling out a new software variant for the Fenix 7 and Tactix 7, among others. This update does not bring too many improvements or new functions, but focuses primarily on fixing various errors. Specifically, for example, errors in the display of activity calories under certain circumstances are said to have been addressed. In the rather extensive changelog, an error that could prevent the download of Outdoor Maps+ has been fixed.

Golfers and strength athletes should be just as happy that problems no longer occur, as the rounding of the performed repetition should now work flawlessly. An entry in the changelog shows how deep the integration of various Garmin devices with each other already is: Up until now, it could happen that the smartwatches crashed when they received a measurement from the Garmin Z30 rangefinder.

According to the changelog, the estimates of the times that can be achieved in a competition and under maximum strain for various running distances have been improved, and the Garmin Share app has been added. There are also supposed to be improvements in translations.
