Man questioned over fatal stabbing in Paragon Place, Norwich

The man, in his twenties, was questioned at a police station in Stoke Newington on suspicion of aiding and abetting a crime.

He was questioned under supervision by officers from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, assisted by the Metropolitan Police, before being released.

During the initial investigations, a forensic tent was set up. (Image: Bruno Brown) It has been more than a month since 38-year-old Oliver Payne died as a result of a single stab wound to the chest.

At 6:44pm on August 2, officers were called to Paragon Place after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, Mr Payne was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Lead investigator Detective Inspector Sam Pontin said: “Our investigation is progressing and we continue to make every effort to trace the suspect, who we believe was known to the victim.”
