The 40-year-old will be promoted to Head of Football Institutional Relations at the Italian record champions.

Former Italian European football champion Giorgio Chiellini is returning to his former club Juventus Turin in a new role. The 40-year-old, who ended his professional career last year, signed a contract with the record champions as “Head of Football Institutional Relations”.

“From the past to the present: Welcome home, Giorgio!” the club wrote on its website on Sunday. Chiellini will take on a managerial position and will be in charge of the club’s relations with national and international football institutions, Juve said.

Chiellini played for Juventus from 2005 to 2022 and made 561 appearances for the Bianconeri. He won several national titles with Juventus and became European champion with the national team in 2021. After an emotional farewell to Juve, he joined Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer (MLS). In December 2023, he announced the end of his career.
